THE London Skolars have been handed a boost ahead of their trip to Swinton Lions in rugby league’s Ladbrokes Challenge Cup this weekend by announcing three additions to their squad.
Keenan Tomlinson and Brandon Pickersgill have both joined on loan from Bradford Bulls, while Sam Druce – who had been playing for his University side Leeds Beckett and was recently called up to the England Students squad – has returned to the club for a second spell.
Skolars’ head coach Jermaine Coleman said: “Sam has plenty of experience with the team and is joining us after a successful season at Leeds Beckett University.
“He is adding much needed depth at hooker. Sam is a solid defender and has a good turn of pace around the middle.
“Brandon is an exciting half-back or full-back and will bring in some cover to the group. He has a good kicking game and excellent support and running abilities which will make him a great addition to the squad.
“Keenan is another exciting young utility player. He’s a great athlete with a great skillset. He’s a Jamaican international and featured in both their winter tests against Ireland and Wales.”
General manager Jac Davies added: “We’re delighted to add Brandon and Keenan to the squad – we are keen to attract and develop young talent.
“Sam represents that Skolars tradition, a University student who is doing well. We’re excited to see him back in Skolars colours.
“We are suffering with several injuries at present and Jermaine has done a cracking job in being able to attract these players to the club.”
